Alberta Government Reopening Plan
An outline of the three staged re-opening plan:
Stage 1
Effective June 1st
Target of 50% of adults being vaccinated
COVID-19 hospitalizations below 800
Outdoor dining reopens with a maximum of four guests per table from the same household
Four guests per table
Outdoor seating only
Last call at 10:00PM
Closed at 11:00 PM
Everyone at the table must be members of the same household or for a person living alone, dining parties are limited to two close contacts
Physical distancing and other restrictions/ safety regulations still apply
Outdoor social gatherings allowed for up to 10 people
Places of Worship open at 15% capacity (effective May 28th)
Weddings ceremonies may have up to 10 people and funerals up to 20 people
Personal and wellness services can reopen by appointment only
Retail can increase to 15% of occupancy
Distancing and masking requirements remain in effect
Stage 2
Effective mid-June
Target of 60% of adult Albertans being vaccinated
COVID-19 hospitalizations below 500
Indoor dining to resume for up to six guests per table with no household bubble restriction
Movie theatres and live theatres reopen at one third capacity
Outdoor gatherings of up to 20 people allowed with distancing
Retail increases to one-third occupancy capacity
Indoor settings including recreation centres, arenas, cinemas, theatres, museums, art galleries and libraries open to one third occupancy capacity
Weddings and funeral ceremonies may occur with up to 20 people with outdoor receptions permitted.
Outdoor fixed seating to open up to one third capacity and public outdoor gatherings (ie. concerts/festivals) increased to 150 people.
Personal and wellness services can resume walk-in service
Distancing and masking requirements remain in effect
Stage 3
Effective July 1st
Target of 70% of adult Albertans being vaccinated
No hospitalization target
All remaining COVID-19 restrictions are lifted, including ban on indoor social gatherings
